FlexiCell: 5G location-based context-aware agile manufacturing

Manufacturing machines need to be re-tooled approximately 15 times per week and in the future even more often because of decreasing batch sizes increasing short-cyclic demands. Collaborative robots promise offer a versatile automation approach for priorly manual tasks small medium-sized enterprises. However, their configuration needs change at least as re-tooling rate different parts are produced by or might require handling general. Therefore, it would great if autonomous factory systems, general, automatically adjust these changes an intelligent way. In our approach, we propose context-aware location-based agile manufacturing, which manufacturing plant parts, especially collaborative robots, store i) constellation, ii) configuration, iii) adaptation strategy, can react re-location adaptively. For example, moving one robot location next production machine will load its new consult with operator on strategy (i.e., safety requirements). Such requires precise information. To realize localization network capabilities, use based heterogeniclocalization technologies like ultrasound wireless communications. We suggest small-cell-based around nomadic 5G core network, integrates multiple wired communication well support combined asset management strategy. cells operate island without heavy backend optimize end-to-end communication. Furthermore, federate each other thus extend coverage when getting into other's range.
